“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” (Abraham Lincoln)
This post is a tribute to my mother. My rock!
Everyone of us is blessed with a mother, a mom, a mummy, a ma. In my case, a best friend. Unfortunately, I have not yet experienced the joys of motherhood, and am unlikely to for a good few years yet. However, as a ‘child’, I will remain true to the traditions of Mother’s Day. This day celebrates the woman who has made you into the person you are today. My mum has held my hand through learning to walk, to learning to drive and learning to own a house. She has been there every step of the way, guiding, nurturing, harassing and cooking!
Of course everyone believes that their mother is the greatest. But here are three reasons why my mum is the greatest to me.
- She gave me my moral out look on life and taught me the important lesson that no-one has died from hard work.
- Whenever anyone visits my house, she will ensure they are fed and watered. The generosity she has displayed will stay with me forever.
- As an adult, I have come to find my mum much more than I figure but actually a best friend. I confide in her about my inner most darkest secrets, and she judges. Don’t get me wrong my mum will judge but always in the manner of supporting me to making the right decisions.
Every Mother’s Day I like to take the time to treat the lady who has given me life and made my life a complete one. In the past I have created a home spa which consisted of a facial, manicure, head massage all whilst watching Bridget Jones’ Diary for the umpteenth time! Last year we ventured into the city to watch Mamma Mia on stage, something she had wanted to do for years. For this year I plan to do something special once again….
Mother’s Day is this Sunday!!!!
For many people, they struggle with gifts for Mother’s Day, so here are my top 5 gifts that every mum will love to open and receive.
A simple breakfast in bed!
A hot air balloon trip to see the world from new heights!
A personalised mug for her morning cuppa. This way she will remember your love every day, not just on Mother’s Day!
Afternoon tea for two! Where you can spend some quality time together over some quality cakes!
A pamper day to relax and unwind from the daily stresses your Supermum faces!
